PUWER Regulations

Under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998:
  • Every employer shall ensure that all persons who use work equipment, have received adequate training for purposes of Health and Safety including training in the methods which may be adopted when using work equipment, any risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken
  • Every employer shall ensure that any of his employees who supervises or manages the use of work equipment has received adequate training for purposes of Health and Safety, including training in the methods which may be adopted when using the work equipment, any risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken
In order to achieve this, all potential operators of lift trucks should be properly trained and hold a fully accredited certificate and identification card. Whether you have driven a lift truck before or you are a total novice hoping to become a fully accredited lift truck driver, all you need to do is to complete the appropriate course of training and pass the test of basic operating skills as endorsed by the Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB), our professional accreditation body. You will then be issued with your RTITB accreditation certificate and ID card.

National Operator Registration Scheme (NORS)

The National Operator Registration Scheme is a centralised registration and certification database system for lift truck operators nationwide. Your training and certification are fully accredited and recognised by official bodies and companies nationwide, including the Health and Safety Commission. Registration on a centralised national register means that your credibility as a properly trained lift truck operator can be verified quickly and easily. Your registration sets you apart from other lift truck operators who may not have undergone a fully accredited and professionally delivered training course.
